The Biosafety and Biosecurity International
Conference
'Healthier and More Secure Communities in the Middle
East and North Africa'.
13 - 15 September, 2011 Amman - Jordan
The Biosafety and Biosecurity International
Conferences bring together world experts with top
life scientists, policy makers, academics and
business people from the Middle East and North
Africa to develop comprehensive biosafety and
biosecurity strategies for the region in order to
build healthier and more secure communities. It is
the major opportunity in the MENA region for
networking building, mutual learning, and
discovering and promoting new technologies relating
to biosafety and biosecurity.
This third conference is dedicated to affordable
biosafety and biosecurity - bringing cutting edge
technologies and methodologies to the region that
can help improve biosafety and biosecurity practices
immediately within existing budgets. To this end,
there will be a Technology Exhibition held in
parallel to the Conference sessions.
The Biosafety and Biosecurity International
Conference (BBIC) Process brings together experts
from the countries of the Middle East and North
Africa (MENA) region to assist them in identifying
the biological risks to which their communities are
exposed and to mitigate them through the development
of national and regional biosafety and biosecurity
strategies underpinned by legislative, human and
physical infrastructure. The Process comprises
biennial conferences, local governance structures,
technical workshops and working groups, national and
regional biosafety associations, scientific advisory
panels and regional biosafety training. The
overarching theme of the Process is 'Healthier and
More Secure Communities in the Middle East and North
Africa'.
This will be the 3rd Biosafety and Biosecurity
International Conference. Within the overall
theme, the specific focus of this conference is 'Affordable
Biosafety and Biosecurity'.
The Conference will be held 13-15 September 2011 at
the Royal Scientific Society of Jordan in Amman,
Jordan. This event will be the biggest conference in
the series to date. Over 200 attendees are expected,
representing every aspect of the life sciences from
some 20 countries in the region, together with
experts from every other continent. The conference
draws biological safety and security experts from
academic, commercial, and governmental sectors. |
